"Millennial Farmers Movement: Increasing Exports and National Food Security"

The agricultural sector has great potential in boosting the national economy, especially through the export of food commodities. The government, through the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan), continues to encourage millennial farmers to contribute more to the export of agricultural products. One tangible step taken is the export release of coconut sugar from PT Nira Lestari International to Canada and Malaysia, which demonstrates the great potential of young farmers in penetrating international markets.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture (Wamentan) Sudaryono affirmed his full support for the movement of millennial farmers who are striving to increase food product exports. During the coconut sugar export release in Girimulyo Village, Kulon Progo, he stated that the government strongly encourages the export of food commodities, from both a production and distribution standpoint.

“I fully support the movement of young farmers to export anything and anywhere, especially those related to food, as is being done now by exporting coconut sugar from PT Nira Lestari International,” he said.

Sudaryono also emphasized that the agricultural sector receives significant attention from President Prabowo Subianto, given its strategic role in national food security. According to him, Indonesia has a great opportunity to increase its agricultural product exports, and therefore, young farmers must be continuously encouraged to compete in the global market.
